In 1792 when John was 27, he married Charity RICHARDSON, daughter of Mathias RICHARDSON Sr. & Frances R. CLARK, in Anderson, South Carolina, USA. Born on 18 Jul 1772 in Pendleton, Anderson, South Carolina, USA. Charity died in Simpson County, Kentucky abt 1845, she was 72.

They had the following children:

	ii.	Elizabeth². Born in 1795. Elizabeth died in Greene County, Illinois in 1855, she was 60.² In 1810 when Elizabeth was 15, she married Moses CHANEY², in Simpson County, Kentucky.² Moses died in 1844.
3	iii.	Mathias R. (1798-)
	iv.	Martha Ann. Born on 25 Nov 1803 in Logan, Kentucky. Martha Ann died in Simpson County, Kentucky on 20 Mar 1889, she was 85. Martha Ann married Jonathan REEDER³. Born on 11 Feb 1811. Jonathan died in Simpson County, Kentucky on 6 Nov 1857, he was 46.

	vi.	Mary "Polly". Born in 1805 in Pendleton, Anderson, South Carolina, USA. On 12 Nov 1825 when Mary "Polly" was 20, she married John JIMERSON⁵, in Lincoln County, Missouri.^5,6
